Test Description

Within this proficiency test, your ability to test for disinfection chemicals including total and free chlorine within drinking water will be evaluated. This will allow you to highlight any areas of improvement within your current testing arrangement, from which to ensure only high quality testing standards are offered to consumers.

The quality of drinking water is highly regulated across the world. Chemical contaminants such as heavy metals or pesticides might have long-term health implications. Other chemical contaminants are indicators of environmental pollution at source. Fapas drinking water proficiency tests provide whole volume drinking water samples with a wide range of routine and non-routine chemical components.

Chlorine within water is used routinely to reduce waterborne diseases. Although this is the case, it is essential to highlight any potentially unsafe levels of chlorine within drinking water, from which to reduce any risk to the consumer.  Your effective testing ability is integral to achieving this.

Drinking water is essential within our everyday lives. As such it is integral to ensure this is of drinking standard and high quality. To ensure this is the case purification processes are used, as well as adding chemicals such as chlorines to ensure safe drinking water is delivered to the consumer. These chemicals are not always safe in large quantities, as such it is important to highlight if this is the case.

Proficiency testing activities from Fapas challenge your laboratories in much the same way as your routine analysis activities. This gives direct comparisons from which to provide valuable insights into your current testing ability, as well as areas for improvement. This can in turn inform your wider quality assurance measures, safeguarding your high quality testing ability for the future.
