Enumeration Test

Test Description

Clostridium perfringens has been found to cause a large amount of food poisoning when consumed, although they can be consumed without any harm caused. Although this is the case it important to highlight any high levels of contamination within a range of foodstuffs offered to consumers.

Microbiological contamination of food can cause a range of sickness symptoms, the most extreme of which can result in hospitalisation, contamination can also cause food spoilage. Contamination can result from raw ingredients, poor sanitation or hygiene practices, or inappropriate storage conditions.  As such extensive testing abilities are required to highlight any unsafe foodstuffs.

Milk powder is consumed in large quantities globally owing to its advantages over fresh milks such as longer shelf life. This in itself can put milk powder at a higher risk of contamination than fresh counterparts, due to the poor storage practises that may be used from which to contaminate foodstuffs. As such your extensive testing practises are fundamental to ensuring consumers are only offered safe foodstuffs.

Proficiency testing activities from Fapas can safeguard your testing practise, from which to highlight any areas of improvement which you may have within your current routine testing arrangement. It is therefore vital to complete Fapas proficiency tests to ensure regulators are satisfied of your quality assurance efforts, as well as ensuring your customers receive accurate, repeatable test results.

Fapas food microbiology proficiency test samples combine the test organisms into real food matrices or swabs, together with background flora to fully represent real-world samples.
