Test Description

This quality control material can be used to highlight pesticides within this strawberry puree sample. Through the use of Fapas test materials, your testing ability can be critiqued, with the view of improving or maintaining the accuracy of your results

Most countries now have an extensive monitoring scheme for pesticide residues written into their legislation. There are more than 1000 compounds used worldwide as pesticides or plant protection products. When used properly, according to good agricultural practice, any residues can be expected to be below maximum residue limits. The Fapas pesticide residues proficiency tests are based on the EU monitoring list and associated MRLs but are widely applicable to most geographic areas. We also base our statistical data analysis in keeping with quality assurance guidelines as laid out in EC SANTE/11945/2015.

This proficiency test now has an extensive target list, offering a comprehensive range of insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, pyrethroids, organophosphates, organochlorine pesticides and neonicotinoids. This proficiency test requires identification and quantification of the analytes.

Strawberries are consumed globally and as such, there is a large amount of demand for suppliers to satisfy. This can put a large amount of strain on global supply chains. As such, there is a need for highly accurate testing abilities from which to safeguard the quality of produce offered to consumers.

Pesticides are well used globally across a range of foodstuffs. Due to large demands for produce such as strawberries, poor farming practices may be used to enhance supply in the short term, to the detriment of sustainability and product quality. This, therefore, requires effective testing to identify any low-quality produce.

Fapas quality control materials provide an effective control material from which to track your testing quality across a range of different testing environments. Quality control materials are useful for standardising testing practices across your staff as well as instrument calibration to remove any false bias.
