Test Description

This proficiency test evaluates your testing ability for Brix , Calcium , Magnesium , Potassium , Sodium , Total Acidity , Total Sugars and pH within apple juice.

Fruit juices (prepared) are subject to labelling regulations for nutritional parameters and analytical testing ensures compliance with the information presented on the labels. We provide sugar content both by Brix determination and by HPLC as total sugars (and individual sugars, if relevant). Other proximates might include ash, total acidity and pH. The proficiency tests also include nutritionally important elements and we vary the type of juice throughout the year.

Food ingredients, including additives, incur a large degree of regulation regarding how they should be recorded on food packaging. This is to ensure consumers can be informed about what they are eating or drinking, and therefore make their own, well informed, purchasing decisions.

Apple juice, and juices in general, are of significant importance for consumers to make informed purchase decisions. The inclusion of preservatives and other food additives within foodstuffs can have a negative effect within customer perceptions, this can in turn affect financial success as a result.

To ensure accurate testing ability from your testing labs in regards to ingredients and therefore nutritional levels effective quality assurance measures should be taken.

Fapas proficiency tests can be utilised to highlight areas of improvement within your testing arrangement that may otherwise go unnoticed within your quality assurance programmes. By using real food matrices Fapas proficiency tests can provide highly comparable results against your routine analysis. This allows swift actions to be taken to safeguard high quality testing performance for your customers to enjoy.
