Test Description

Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins, dibenzofurans and coplanar polychlorinated biphenyls are a group of polyhalogenated organic compounds that are significant environmental pollutants. They have received much worldwide concern due to their presence and toxicity. Accurate analysis of these compounds is therefore essential in order to minimise the risk of exposing consumers to these toxic contaminants.

Insect protein is considered a potential solution to the global food crisis, initially providing protein for animal feed and as such effective testing practises are required to determine the presence and levels of these compounds within the product to protect consumers from potentially unsafe levels of these chemicals which may be accumulated from any contaminated feed.

Fapas proficiency testing should be used to underpin your ongoing quality assurance methods. Through the use of real food matrices, direct comparisons to your routine analysis methods can be made
