Test Description

Spices such as cumin have the potential to become contaminated with ingredients during processing that may be allergenic.  Recent events have highlighted the risk of cumin becoming contaminated with gluten from cereal flours and from sesame.  Both of these can cause allergic reactions in susceptible individuals.

Accurate testing is required to highlight, and therefore control, this potential contamination. To aid with this accurate testing requirement, proficiency testing activities can be undertaken to highlight any areas of weakness within your testing set up. Fapas proficiency test materials employ real food matrices which allow direct comparisons with your routine testing analysis.
