Test Description

The Cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) 35S promoter (p35S) and Agrobacterium tumefaciens (tNOS) are commonly used targets for detection of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). There are currently over 20 reported detection methods, targeting different regions of the p35S promoter. Agrobacterium tumefaciens tNOS DNA sequence elements for the detection of genetically engineered (GE) crop plant material.

Tobacco is widely consumed which can result in a large demand across the global supply chain. This can add extra strain to an already stretched and complex supply chain which requires your extensive testing abilities to protect the consumer from low quality tobacco as well as any GE plant material that may not be highlighted by producers. This gives the consumer all the information they require to make clear and concise purchasing decisions.

Quality control materials can be utilised to track the improvements made within your quality assurance activities. This is in addition to the effective standardisation work that can be done with Fapas quality control materials, where credible, reliable test results can be obtained.
