Polyfluoroalkyl substances are a group of synthetic chemicals that have been manufactured and used in a variety of industries around the globe. These chemicals are very persistent in the environment – meaning they don’t break down and can accumulate over time. Furthermore, there is also evidence that exposure to PFAS can lead to adverse human health effects.

Fish plays a large role within global protein intake. This can put a great deal of stress on an already strained global supply chain, leading to poor supply chain practises which can, in turn, lead to large consumer risks.

Reference Materials offer a greatly improved degree of characterisation when compared to quality control materials. They can therefore be used within method validation or verification procedures and calibration, and can be kept for long periods of time due to their stability being characterised and recorded.
