Test Description

This material is available only in conjunction with FCPM9-DRY14 Pesticide Residues in Milk Powder.

Milk powder can make up a large proportion of foodstuffs and is a key ingredient in infant formula. This large scale use requires effective testing capabilities to detect contaminants within routine testing processes. Fine particles of powdered milk solids are pasteurized milk which is first concentrated in an evaporator to approximately 50% milk solids. The resulting concentrated milk is then sprayed into a heated chamber where the water almost instantly evaporates, leaving powdered milk. The milk can be dried by drum drying.

Pesticides residues are the pesticides that may remain on or in food after they are applied to food crops such as insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides, insect repellants, weed killers, antimicrobials that are designed to prevent, destroy, repel, or reduce pests of any sort. The maximum allowable levels of these residues in foods are often stipulated by regulatory bodies in many countries. Pesticide Residues can have large effects within many foodstuffs, and have special concern when found in infant foodstuffs, due to the larger food intake per kilogram of body weight than adults. This is strengthened by the less varied nature of infant diets compared to adults as well as the body being more vulnerable to external factors.

This blank material is made from the same source as the positive material. And as such provides the perfect match for your analysis, giving the same matrix responses as seen in the positive material.
