Zearalenone (ZON) is a mycotoxin produced by some Fusarium species. While in low levels no adverse effects have been attributed to it, excessive levels of ZON exposed to humans can result in potentially harmful outcomes. As such it is imperative to ensure ZON in foods and feeds is maintained within safe, low, levels.
