Test Description

Alternaria toxins are mycotoxins produced by Alternaria fungi that cause plant diseases on many crops in the field and postharvest. Alternaria toxins have been reported to occur in various foodstuffs including cereals, fruits and vegetables. Data on the incidence and the quantity of Alternaria mycotoxins found in food products is necessary for dietary exposure evaluations.

Within this quality control your ability to test cereal (powdered) for Alternaria toxins - alternariol (AOH) and alternariol monomethyl ether (AME) will be evaluated.

As part of Fapas quality controls our food chemistry quality control samples combine the test analytes into real food matrices to fully represent real-world samples. This allows direct comparisons to be made between your quality control results and your current routine testing arrangement. Through this, timely improvements can be highlighted, from which to ensure high quality testing is offered to your customers which satisfies regulatory controls.
