Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are a group of synthetic chemicals that have been manufactured and used in a variety of industries around the globe. These chemicals are very persistent in the environment – meaning they don’t break down and can accumulate over time. Furthermore, there is also evidence that exposure to PFAS can lead to adverse human health effects. It is therefore important that accurate measurement of these chemical is carried out to minimise the risk to consumer health.
