You may use any method of analysis you wish. Treat as carcinogen. Assigned value and satisfactory range are calculated from recovery corrected data.
Within this proficiency test, your testing ability for fusarium toxins including DON, T-2 and HT-2 toxins can be evaluated. From these insights your testing ability can be maintained, and able to achieve high-quality testing across a range of foodstuffs.
Mycotoxins are toxic secondary metabolites produced by fungi on agricultural commodities in the field or during storage. It is estimated at 25% of the world's food crops are affected, resulting in large commercial losses. Mycotoxins can cause serious health problems (including some being suspected carcinogens) and so are tightly regulated across the world. Mycotoxin contamination is the largest cause of rapid alerts raised against imported food products. Fapas has introduced multi-mycotoxin proficiency tests as well as those for emerging mycotoxins.
Fapas proficiency tests utilise real food matrices to highlight areas within your testing practices that require improvement. These areas of improvement are immediately comparable to your routine testing activities, allowing you to take action quickly and concisely to achieve the highly accurate, credible testing required to satisfy your customers and regulators of your testing competency.
